These complexes are found in some cilia and are assembled in the cytoplasm prior to transport for cilia formation. Mutations in this gene have been associated with primary ciliary dyskinesia. This sequence change replaces glycine with arginine at codon 194 of the DNAAF2 protein (p.Gly194Arg). The glycine residue is highly conserved and there is a moderate physicochemical difference between glycine and arginine. -
