The p.R2060S variant (also known as c.6178C>A), located in coding exon 41 of the ATM gene, results from a C to A substitution at nucleotide position 6178. The arginine at codon 2060 is replaced by serine, an amino acid with dissimilar properties. This amino acid position is highly conserved in available vertebrate species. In addition, the in silico prediction for this alteration is inconclusive. Since supporting evidence is limited at this time, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. -

This sequence change replaces arginine, which is basic and polar, with serine, which is neutral and polar, at codon 2060 of the ATM protein (p.Arg2060Ser).
