Lysine (Lys) at position 2378 is poorly conserved in evolution (1 mammal and multiple fish species carrying the v ariant amino acid), supporting that this change may be tolerated. Additional com putational prediction tools do not provide strong support for or against an impa ct to the protein. Although the presence of the variant amino acid in multiple other species supports that the Lys2378Arg variant may be benign, additional stu dies are needed to fully assess its clinical significance. - |
