This alteration results from a A to G substitution at nucleotide position 8945, causing the glutamine (Q) at amino acid position 2982 to be replaced by an arginine (R). This sequence change replaces glutamine with arginine at codon 2982 of the RYR3 protein (p.Gln2982Arg). The glutamine residue is highly conserved and there is a small physicochemical difference between glutamine and arginine. This variant is present in population databases (rs762655537, ExAC 0.2%). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with RYR3-related conditions.
