The c.1493G>A (p.R498Q) alteration is located in exon 16 (coding exon 16) of the DARS gene. This alteration results from a G to A substitution at nucleotide position 1493, causing the arginine (R) at amino acid position 498 to be replaced by a glutamine (Q).
