This sequence change replaces proline, which is neutral and non-polar, with leucine, which is neutral and non-polar, at codon 484 of the RTEL1 protein (p.Pro484Leu). This variant is present in population databases (rs786205700, gnomAD 0.006%). This missense change has been observed in individual(s) with pulmonary fibrosis (PMID: 25848748). It has also been observed to segregate with disease in related individuals. ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 190473).
