The p.V1199M variant (also known as c.3595G>A), located in coding exon 34 of the KIF1A gene, results from a G to A substitution at nucleotide position 3595. The valine at codon 1199 is replaced by methionine, an amino acid with highly similar properties. This amino acid position is well conserved in available vertebrate species. In addition, the in silico prediction for this alteration is inconclusive. Since supporting evidence is limited at this time, the clinical significance of this variant remains unclear. -
