The p.A48E variant (also known as c.143C>A), located in coding exon 1 of the MET gene, results from a C to A substitution at nucleotide position 143. The alanine at codon 48 is replaced by glutamic acid, an amino acid with dissimilar properties. This amino acid position is well conserved in available vertebrate species. In addition, this alteration is predicted to be tolerated by in silico analysis. Based on the available evidence, the clinical significance of this variant remains unclear. -
