Genes affected
VSIR (HGNC:30085): (V-set immunoregulatory receptor) Enables endopeptidase activator activity; enzyme binding activity; and identical protein binding activity. Involved in several processes, including negative regulation of cytokine production; positive regulation of macromolecule metabolic process; and regulation of T cell activation. Located in plasma membrane. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Apr 2022]
CDH23 (HGNC:13733): (cadherin related 23) This gene is a member of the cadherin superfamily, whose genes encode calcium dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoproteins. The encoded protein is thought to be involved in stereocilia organization and hair bundle formation. The gene is located in a region containing the human deafness loci DFNB12 and USH1D. Usher syndrome 1D and nonsyndromic autosomal recessive deafness DFNB12 are caused by allelic mutations of this cadherin-like gene. Upregulation of this gene may also be associated with breast cancer. Alternative splice variants encoding different isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, May 2013]

Uncertain significance, criteria provided, single submitterclinical testingAmbry GeneticsAug 30, 2021The c.494A>C (p.E165A) alteration is located in exon 2 (coding exon 2) of the C10orf54 gene. This alteration results from a A to C substitution at nucleotide position 494, causing the glutamic acid (E) at amino acid position 165 to be replaced by an alanine (A). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. -
