Genes affected
CCL7 (HGNC:10634): (C-C motif chemokine ligand 7) This gene encodes monocyte chemotactic protein 3, a secreted chemokine which attracts macrophages during inflammation and metastasis. It is a member of the C-C subfamily of chemokines which are characterized by having two adjacent cysteine residues. The protein is an in vivo substrate of matrix metalloproteinase 2, an enzyme which degrades components of the extracellular matrix. This gene is part of a cluster of C-C chemokine family members on chromosome 17q. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uncertain significance, criteria provided, single submitter | clinical testing | Ambry Genetics | Jul 30, 2023 | The c.187G>A (p.A63T) alteration is located in exon 2 (coding exon 2) of the CCL7 gene. This alteration results from a G to A substitution at nucleotide position 187, causing the alanine (A) at amino acid position 63 to be replaced by a threonine (T). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. - |
