Genes affected
TADA2A (HGNC:11531): (transcriptional adaptor 2A) Many DNA-binding transcriptional activator proteins enhance the initiation rate of RNA polymerase II-mediated gene transcription by interacting functionally with the general transcription machinery bound at the basal promoter. Adaptor proteins are usually required for this activation, possibly to acetylate and destabilize nucleosomes, thereby relieving chromatin constraints at the promoter. The protein encoded by this gene is a transcriptional activator adaptor and has been found to be part of the PCAF histone acetylase complex. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms of this gene have been described, but the full-length nature of some of these variants has not been determined. Uncertain significance, criteria provided, single submitter | clinical testing | Ambry Genetics | Jun 24, 2022 | The c.1144G>C (p.E382Q) alteration is located in exon 15 (coding exon 14) of the TADA2A gene. This alteration results from a G to C substitution at nucleotide position 1144, causing the glutamic acid (E) at amino acid position 382 to be replaced by a glutamine (Q). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. - |
