Genes affected
NAT1 (HGNC:7645): (N-acetyltransferase 1) This gene is one of two arylamine N-acetyltransferase (NAT) genes in the human genome, and is orthologous to the mouse and rat Nat2 genes. The enzyme encoded by this gene catalyzes the transfer of an acetyl group from acetyl-CoA to various arylamine and hydrazine substrates. This enzyme helps metabolize drugs and other xenobiotics, and functions in folate catabolism. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Uncertain significance, criteria provided, single submitter | clinical testing | Ambry Genetics | Oct 08, 2024 | The c.277G>C (p.V93L) alteration is located in exon 3 (coding exon 1) of the NAT1 gene. This alteration results from a G to C substitution at nucleotide position 277, causing the valine (V) at amino acid position 93 to be replaced by a leucine (L). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. - |
