This sequence change replaces threonine, which is neutral and polar, with methionine, which is neutral and non-polar, at codon 126 of the AQP2 protein (p.Thr126Met). This variant is present in population databases (rs104894330, gnomAD 0.004%). This missense change has been observed in individuals with autosomal recessive nephrogenic diabetes insipidus (PMID: 9048343, 23950570, 27151922). ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 17833).
