The variant allele was found at a frequency of 0.00015 in 251454 control chromosomes, predominantly at a frequency of 0.0022 within the African or African-American subpopulation in the gnomAD database. This frequency is similar to the estimated frequency for a pathogenic variant in SLC25A12 causing Developmental And Epileptic Encephalopathy, 39, suggesting a benign role for this variant. To our knowledge, no occurrence of c.2015delC in individuals affected with Developmental And Epileptic Encephalopathy, 39 and no experimental evidence demonstrating its impact on protein function have been reported.
