Genes affected
CELF2 (HGNC:2550): (CUGBP Elav-like family member 2) Members of the CELF/BRUNOL protein family contain two N-terminal RNA recognition motif (RRM) domains, one C-terminal RRM domain, and a divergent segment of 160-230 aa between the second and third RRM domains. Members of this protein family regulate pre-mRNA alternative splicing and may also be involved in mRNA editing, and translation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uncertain significance, no assertion criteria providedclinical testingPreventionGenetics, part of Exact SciencesJan 24, 2024The CELF2 c.1048+4A>T variant is predicted to interfere with splicing. This variant is predicted to impact splicing based on splicing prediction programs (SpliceAI, Jaganathan K, et al. 2019. PubMed ID: 30661751). To our knowledge, this variant has not been reported in the literature or in a large population database, indicating this variant is rare. At this time, the clinical significance of this variant is uncertain due to the absence of conclusive functional and genetic evidence. -
