The variant was absent in 31396 control chromosomes (gnomAD). c.*112A>G has been reported in the literature in multiple individuals affected with Beta Thalassemia (e.g. Jankovic_1990, Huisman_1997, Phylipsen_2010, Rahim_2015, Lim_2016). These data indicate that the variant is very likely to be associated with disease. The following publications have been ascertained in the context of this evaluation (PMID: 2375910, 9342003, 1856830, 27821013, 26554253, 20110179).
