The c.4103A>G (p.E1368G) alteration is located in exon 30 (coding exon 29) of the PCDH15 gene. This alteration results from a A to G substitution at nucleotide position 4103, causing the glutamic acid (E) at amino acid position 1368 to be replaced by a glycine (G). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. -

It is n ot expected to have clinical significance because it did not segregate with hear ing loss in one family tested by our lab and the amino acid residue is not conse rved across mammalian species. -
