This sequence change replaces aspartic acid, which is acidic and polar, with asparagine, which is neutral and polar, at codon 1080 of the RBP3 protein (p.Asp1080Asn). Experimental studies have shown that this missense change affects RBP3 function (PMID: 23486466).
