While this particular variant has not been reported in the literature, loss-of-function variants in KIT are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 15194144). This sequence change inserts 1 nucleotide in exon 2 of the KIT mRNA (c.108_109insT), causing a frameshift at codon 37. This creates a premature translational stop signal (p.Pro37Serfs*19) and is expected to result in an absent or disrupted protein product. -
