Missense variants in this region have been shown to be significantly overrepresented in individuals with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (PMID: 27532257). An algorithm developed specifically for the MYH7 gene suggests that this missense change is likely to be deleterious (PMID: 21310275). ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 525009). This missense change has been observed in individual(s) with clinical features of MYH7-related conditions (Invitae). This sequence change replaces proline, which is neutral and non-polar, with histidine, which is basic and polar, at codon 402 of the MYH7 protein (p.Pro402His). - |
