This alteration results from a A to G substitution at nucleotide position 4403, causing the tyrosine (Y) at amino acid position 1468 to be replaced by a cysteine (C). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. -

This sequence change replaces tyrosine with cysteine at codon 1468 of the DNAH8 protein (p.Tyr1468Cys). The tyrosine residue is highly conserved and there is a large physicochemical difference between tyrosine and cysteine. This variant is present in population databases (rs766707073, ExAC 0.06%). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with DNAH8-related conditions.
